Master's Thesis in Nuclear Physics
We offer a Master's thesis project based on the research conducted by the A2 Collaboration at the Mainzer Mikrotron (MAMI). The successful candidate will work either on the analysis of the data from MAMI taken with the Crystal Ball/TAPS experiment with an aim to investigate in-medium modifications of baryon resonances or on the development of the active Helium target utilizing an innovative detection concept. Also, the student will have an opportunity to participate in the data taking at MAMI and can acquire hands-on experience on running experiments at a working accelerator facility. The research will be performed within the working groups of Prof. Dr. Michael Ostrick and Prof. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Arends. The Master's thesis can be written either in English or in German language.
The duration of the project is 1 year. Possible start of the project: January 2015, but the applications will be considered until a successful candidate is found.For more details contact:
