Online-/Slow-Control Display System

The Frontend

  • The frontend can be (re)started by powercycling the Raspberrys. Just switch (off and) on the two main multiple socket outlets. Then the always running script "start-displays.pl" on a2onlinedisplay-ctrl.office.a2.kph should (re)start the displays (but might take some minutes).
  • If that does not help, ask Andreas Neiser or, if you can't reach him, ssh to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and read the README file in the home directory.

The Backend

    • About SQL-DB
      • MySQL on wwwa2, Database: test
    • About Clients
      • Debug: If the numbers don't update make sure
        1. RunSlowControl.sh (and CBSlowControlTransmitter.sh and MWPCSlowControlTransmitter.sh) is running on VMEbusPCs vme0.online.a2.kph
To launch all 3 scripts execute /usr/home/vmebus/ExperimentSlowControl/start.sh
        2. Launch via ssh This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  /home/vmebus/ExperimentSlowControl/start.sh
This will update the Tagger/Pairspektrometer part
        3. Check that on a2kallisti the script /home/a2cb/bin/transmit_daq_status.sh is running. Launch it with start.sh in the same directory.
      • Use the script on a2cb@a2onlinedisplay-ctrl to reload the displays.

    • About PHP pages
      • All values are written to a RAM disk, and once a day they are moved to its final destination
        /admin/www/download/slowcontroldata/data
      • This movement is done by /admin/www/apache22/data/intern/sc/MoveRAMtoNormal.php
      • To let the MoveRAMtoNormal.php run regularly, call /admin/www/apache22/data/intern/sc/start.sh (as root).
The system has been written by: Andreas Neiser, Peter-Bernd Otte, Oliver Steffen. First release in Dez 2012.
